Funny story – I never set out to run my own business and thanks to our loyal customers, we’ve been operating on referrals for 30 years! I grew up in the Bay Area and loved working on cars. In fact, I dreamed of becoming a mechanic but everyone told me not to go down that road. So Senior year in high school, while everyone was getting their acceptance letters, I went to a recruiting event and an HVAC tech school piqued my interest. I enrolled, graduated top of my class and 30 years later, I still love what I do!

Air Conditioning Tune-Up and Safety Inspection
A.S.A.P. Heating & Air Conditioning’s trained technicians will perform a precision tune-up, including the following operations:

Blower Motor: measure amperage and voltage for proper operation
Thermostat: test for proper operation, calibrate and level
Clean existing air filter (as needed)
Bearing: inspect for wear and lubricate
Condensate Drain: flush and treat if accessible
Inspect Coils
Refrigerant: monitor operating pressures
Safety Devices: inspect for proper operation
Electrical Disconnect Box: inspect for proper rating and safe installation
Electrical Wiring: inspect and tighten connections

Thermostat: test for proper operation, calibrate and level

Gary has been fantastic through all stages: sales, installation, warranty work, and going above and beyond by still answering questions of mine, 2 years later, unrelated to what I hired him for. Gary is knowledgeable, honest, provides great recommendations, and is a great human being. If you are going to support a business, support this one. Know that you will also be supporting a small business too! Back in 2024, our 20 year old air conditioner died. I interviewed many HVAC companies. They all send a salesperson out and try to upsell what you need. Gary is an owner/operator and came out himself. We discussed my needs and budget and he suggested an entry level Bosch heat pump system. He had good experiences with it with prior installations. When I did my own research on Bosch heat pumps, I asked Gary about the higher models, and he suggested that while those models were indeed better, the cost:benefit ratio may not be worth the extra cost. The installation process went smoothly. Gary will also be doing the installation along with an assistant. There were a couple of hiccups due to old wiring coming loose, but Gary and his team quickly identified the issue and resolved it. Fast forward 2 years, and the new heat pump is so efficient that I had a negative True-up bill for the first time. I will also periodically call Gary for advice on other projects I am working on like kitchen vent hood and exhaust fan ducting questions, to which Gary always responds with a great attitude and advice. When you hire Gary for a project, he will always be in your corner.

Can I give more than 5 stars? We've used ASAP several times over the last 7-8 years. We've had some repairs to done our ancient AC unit previously but we decided it was time replace the unit and fix the cooling issues we put up with since we purchased our home in 2011. We interviewed about five companies with a wide range of solutions and prices. ASAP was recommended by a friend and by far spent more time talking to us through solutions, being honest about what could be delivered and explained what they would be doing and why. They were able to replace our entire HVAC system and most of the exposed ducting in a day. We were super happy. Side note, tehy came out and did a quick repair while our replacement units were in transit, just to make sure we didn't melt before the original could be replaced. Pleasanton summers can get hot.. HAWT!!! Gary and his team also helped repair (and eventually replace) the aging AC unit at our rental condo. They've been great at providing advice, helping troubleshoot problems not just for us but for friends we've referred them to. This goes a long way as this type of service leads to lasting trust, confidence and loyalty in a provider. Knowing your provider is looking out for you and not just their bottom line. We just recently moved and knowing my HVAC here is home original (1985), I know we'll be giving ASAP a call in the near future.
